I've always had a soft spot for the Metros as well, especially the three cylinder model. One day I'll buy one for not very many moneys and go lemons racing or something with it. Make it crazy with a mid engine motorcycle swap or something.

Those things aren't bad as far as fuel economy goes, But I honestly would find it a little bit embarrassing to drive a pea soup green Geo Metro.

A friend of the family runs a towing business here in Central NJ that paints all of its trucks an eye searing shade of yellow. When his daughter was old enough to learn how to drive, he plucked a Metro out of his cars-people-who-couldn't-afford-to-pay-to-two-and-abandoned lot and painted it that same absurd shade of yellow. She drove it around his property until she finally got her license and 'real' car.

I wonder what happened to it.

a buddy of mine had a 4 Dr with the 3 cyl. It as lifted an inch and had 17 rims on oversized tires. He used it as his hunting rig for trails that were too small for his Silverado.
